Ethnographic research and theatre performance project. Role: production, visual identity and documentation.
La sombra que deja el hilo is a project led by the Arraiga association, which I joined in January 2025. Our practice is based on memory, cultural legacies and situated knowledge. We look at how art can be used as a tool for social transformation, through a combined focus on political education and theatre.
“La sombra que deja el hilo” (The Shadow Left by the Thread) is a participatory theatre performance with elderly women, created from ethnographic research with a group of older women living in different neighbourhoods of Barcelona since February 2024.
The project is site-specific: first came a week of workshops with the elderly women of Montbau, the neighbourhood where the show takes place. It’s a laboratory of theatre and memory, where we try to bring out the dissonances between past and present. We ask the women to share their stories and reflect on how customs and society have changed.
How do you feel as an old woman nowadays? What has changed? What hasn’t? What is happiness to you? How would you convince an alien not to destroy Earth?
After the workshops comes the performance: we place the themes and all the contributions in a dystopian future, where elderly women are hunted if they’re deemed useless. In this way, we reveal the true essence of turbocapitalism: a philosophy that denies and destroys life as it is.

The opening of El Pati de Malpaís, a series of events with Malpaís, with Gal·la, Esmeralda and Ari Cardozo, artists from Barcelona’s underground scene.
El Pati is a joint project by a collective of artists, cultural managers, researchers and architects. This year it worked with Malpaís Art Gallery to host its events and workshops: concert cycles for emerging electronic, ambient and performance artists from Barcelona and L’Hospitalet, and legal guidance and curatorial help for emerging artists.
El Pati has a hybrid structure: it supports and produces multidisciplinary cultural events, and gives legal and administrative guidance to artists living or working in peripheral neighbourhoods.
Funding: Injuve grant, Ajuntament de Barcelona, Generalitat de Catalunya.
